i want to get into drag racing and i am currently building an 85 corola hatch and trying to wedge a 454 chev into it and just wondering what restrictions there are in the lower classes and weather i am going completely the wrong way about starting in drag racing (ie car selection)

pay your fees pass your medical get teh car teched and do a licencing pass whitnessed by an andra official and they will varify it .. done and done

what you wanna know .. jsut call andra get them to send youa rule book bud if you want a hard copy or jsut ask away

You'll need to get your hands on the rule book before you can say which license you'll need. I would suggest you detune the engine so that you can still run within the Super Street bracket for the first 12 months so you can get a handle on how the chassis performs. Will also give you a better introduction to race craft - it's not just a simple case of launch & run as hard as you can (unless you're talking groiup one categories which I suspect are out of you price range ATM).

Contrary to popular belief Super Street is just as tough a bracket to win as any other, but the introductory nature of it allows costs to be kept down meaning newbies can save money to make the jump into a better combination for the upper classes.
