Andrew,

Koni only specify the fronts, and they are the internally adjustable Koni Specials. $220 each.

There is a shock now that we can use for the rears, Koni Sports externally adjustable, but the car needs to be lowered at least 20mm as its a shorter shock. These are $150 each.

Regards,
Greg

oh cheers mate, yeh im riding on superlows at the moment, with shocks that are only 20mm shorter than standard which is still too tall. i've only sorta been told that these are nice shocks, but dont know alot about them..

reguarding the front shocks which are internally adjustable, is that before they go into the strut or actually inside the bore of the shock? also does this have to be dont in the manufacturing process, or can I deciede to change my settings when I wish?

also, are these adjustable in height and re-boud aswell?

thanks for that,
Andrew

20mm shorter is all you'll get, and its because they're shocks for another application that they're shorter. For that car nobody makes shorter shocks for shorter springs.

Internally adjustable Koni's are adjusted by taking the shock out of the car, depressing the shaft all the way, then turning from left to right. You can change setting's when ever you want, you've just got to take them out of the car.

The adjustment is a combined Bump/Rebound... There's no adjustment for height. That would require a coil over type setup with a threaded tube or similar.

In a Koni I'd just be buying new, as relative to rebuilding (where available) won't be a whole lot cheaper than buying new. If it was Bilstein or DMS or something alone those lines I'd definitely look at rebuilding, but if the Koni's are flogged then best option will be to just buy new.

Hi Ed,

Koni Yellows to suit your Accent are $289 each for the fronts, and $239 each for the rears. The rears, although they are a yellow sports, are only an 86 series shock, so aren't on car adjustable, need to be take out and compressed to adjust.

Greg

Hi Brendon,

Our entry level coilover that we supply is DMS 40mm. For a front pair you're looking at $1595. That includes springs, freight and GST.
http://www.dmshocks.com

Anything less than that and you are FAR better off getting a quality shock spring combo like Bilstein/Kings. Koni doesn't have anything available, but we can quote up on the Bilstein if you like.

Hi mate,

The shock I would recommend would be Boge. Dedicated shortened shock for the VE, and $145 each for the front, and $84 each for the rear. Both in stock.
