You need your own account to play. What you can do is use your friends account on your computer which will then show that his account has Source on it. It will then download to your computer via his steam account.

You will need to goto the location of "steam.exe", which would be some where like C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam. But yes you will need your own steam account with CSS.

Cos you're trying to use your mates one...
It's showing it's registered copy to your mates computer and account and therefore won't let you play it on your account. Use your mates account to play.

Yes, as RetardedMonkey already said, your friends game will already be registered in his name, so you won't be able to play it online, or at all really.
I borrowed my brothers Half Life 2, had to be activated on the steam, I got an email telling me that the serial number was already used, so I can't even play it at all.

Please observe the following process to move your Steam installation between hard drives or machines:
1. Exit the Steam client application.
2. Browse to the Steam installation folder (C\Program Files\Valve\Steam by default) for the Steam installation you would like to move.
3. Move the steamapps folder from the Steam installation folder to your desktop.
4. uninstall Steam (this must be done to remove your old Steam installation settings from the Windows Registry).
5. Re-install Steam to the desired location or on new pc etc
6. Move the steamapps folder into the new Steam installation folder to copy all of your downloaded game content, settings, and saved games to the new location.
7. Start Steam and log in to your existing Steam account to confirm that the move was successfull
