Ok, I've just jumped on here for the 1st time in a few months as I really don't like people who hide behind their computers and bag people and their cars! Looks like nothing has changed (I didn't expect it to) but there are some here who I respect and would call acquaintances and friends (once we get to know each other better)
For the record:
Was sent down for tubs, 9", Teins and rims
Was ready to come home when I decided "Hey, they are great engine builders, why not get them to build me a stroked 6.0ltr"
So I did that with these internals:
Eagle Crankshaft with steel 4.000 stroke
Eagle H Beam rods
Diamond Forged 4.000 pistons
GM Performance 6.0ltr cast iron block (decked, honed, chemically cleaned, balanced and blue printed)
Rollmaster timing kit - Torrington
ARP main studs, balancer and flywheel bolts
Clevite H series Conrod and Main bearings
Cometic .074 head gaskets MLS
Billet Camshaft 410A Hyd
Duration@ .050"lift 235degrees
Value lift .561"
Lobe 114degrees
Crane 1.7 Roller Rockers and hardened pushrods
Higgins 1200hp CNC heads
Starr pyramid manifold+cooler core
Harrop 8rib pulley kit
8rib belt
We then ran her on the dyno and only made 450rwkw! Frank called me and said "Scotty, we got 450rwkw but the 2.3ltr is working her guts out"!! At this stage she was ready to come home again. I deliberated for a few hours, called him back and said "Frank, go the 3.3ltr mate, I want something special"! (This is the new style of 3.3ltr Whipples and is the 1st to be sold in Australia)
So that's where we are at the moment! She's on the rollers now and without NOS or methanol Frank seems to think we will make an easy 700rwkw! They only have a couple of days to tune her unfortunately (as with something like this, Frank would like 2-3weeks to get the most out of her, so now if something breaks, we're screwed as he doesnt have the time to rebuild) so it will have a consevative 700rwkw as I need her back to take to Summer Nats.
So those of you (and you know who you are) that bag me or my car for getting this work done to make sure I get into the 10's....... I will be wanting 9's, maybe even 8's!! Franks brothers car runs 620rwkw and does 9.2's!! I've done this work so nothing will break!!
The thing is I WON'T be adding a roll cage, so next year (before the T&T) there are a group of us who will be hiring the track with Ambos, Fireys, film crew, photographers, a starter and Jay's services for the time clock privately (as not to run under ANDRA..... no roll cage) and it will be there that Rattler will get her turn to prove (not to anyone else but myself) that she can run with the best of them! Then I can still come out to Street Meets on street tyres and let guys and girls have a run against her legally and have some fun! That's all I want to do as I'm Managing a drag team next year!
Guys, I've never said a bad word about any of you, or your cars...... so please do not disrespect me or mine!! Each to their own..........can you imagine if we all drove R34's or Supras? And for the record I haven't spent $170K on her! I bought her new for $62K in 2004 and since have spent $90K to make her my own!!
I didn't have to explain myself and what I've done to anyone, but just thought I would clear the air

That's all I have to say on this subject on this forum!
Below is a link of her having a tune run and was at 340rwkw@2900rpm. Please read the "About this video" on the side to explain the wind noise

P.S. For those of you who have respect, manners and kooth.... I thank you

P.P.S. She's in this months edition of Street Machine Commodores with the 2.3ltr Whipple. I appolgize for an earlier statement of being in "Street Machine" but that was my understanding.
P.P.P.S. I will have her back on or around the 24th December to be loaded onto a trailer for a road trip to Summer Nats 21 on the 28th!

Wayne and I are both towing our cars down there.
