The Powercruise Pro Street Shootout is confirmed for the 24th of November this year at Willowbank Raceway.

Entry forms are available HERE and will also be sent to all who have entered and raced previously.

The Powercruise Pro Street Shootout will be run under both sets of rules. Standard Qld rules and the APSA rules. What this means is that the APSA have agreed to allow times run by cars that comply with the APSA rules to be recognised after scrutineered and checked on the day by an APSA scrutineer. Cars that have been built to Qld shootout rules are obviously still invited to run in their nominated class against APSA legal cars at this event. The only real difference I can see is the APSA rules allow you to run with no mufflers. As this is a Qld event with predominately Qld cars, in the interest of keeping this a streetcar event, I would prefer that all cars run mufflers however we have to allow APSA legal cars to run without mufflers if they choose. Any other car racing at this event that is not APSA legal, will have to run mufflers.

I must ask all competitors to please be considerate of my position on this as my job is to bring and keep Pro Street Racing happening in Qld for the betterment of the sport. I need to have a quality show to put on for the paying spectators in order to keep running these events for the racers so it’s a wicked circle we all live in but I have asked the APSA for their assistance in this matter of bringing these 2 sets of rules together and they have agreed to do so for which I am thankful. The view is to have one single set of rules for which I hope at and after this event, we may be able to move on with a sole set of rules being APSA rules. This will give plenty of time for racers building cars and current racers time to change their cars to suit the APSA rules.

It also means that all cars that have run the Shootout in past years can still race their cars at this event and in the future wether they have built it to APSA rules or not. They can still win their respective classes against any car in the other lane so what more can we ask for.

If any problems arise, I will be taking the stance of lets just race and be done with it. I have put a lot of thought into this for the past 6 months and I think it will work just fine. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to drop me a line at info@powercruise.net before the event, not at the event because I won’t be able to sort things on the day. Much prefer to go over it before hand.

Now there is no reason for any racer in any class under any set of rules not to attend the event to further promote the strength of Pro Street in Australia.

Corporate boxes are available now, download the application form and post it to us with your payment to secure the best spot in the house.
