Hi guys

Recently ive done an oil change in my mitsubishi GTO, and ever since then....but i realised from yesterday my oil pressure gauge is about 2-3 ticks below the bottom idling in traffic......now this is strange because when im doing a lot of highway driving its medium to high......
But come to a traffic light idling from 1min onwards, it drops really really low, low enough to set off the oil light in my dash....

Ive gone from a 20w-50 oil to a mobil synth 10w-40 oil...could this be the problem, as hot summer is approaching??

when i did the oil change i didnt change the oil filter either??

i give it a lil stick just last weekend around the mountains, but this wouldnt have contributed to my low oil levels would it?

why would u change the oil and not the filter ?? all the crap is in there lol and they are only like 7 bucks anyway. do it again hehe

nahhh, if you just changed your oil and your gauge is still not working then somethings wrong with the actual gauge, ive had the same problem with my mazda, just re check the wiring of the gauge and make sure nothing leads the wrong way also change the filter as well like just clean it VERY VERY VERY THURRALY with petrol, so it cleans the shit out of it instead of buyin a new one alright, cauz theirs no point in having GOOD NEW OIL and then gets filtered in a shit stick, know wat i mean?
lol tc hope i helped out..

using a thinner grade oil could be giving you the lower oild pressure reading, best this is try the 20-50 again see if that fixes your problem...if that fails see what the correct grade of oild is recomended for the engine and get a new filter too thumbsup.gif
