hey guys and girls well got the carb and everything for the datsun sorted and timing sorted out now the carb is playing up so its might be an easy fix or we might have to kit it. well we got spark, we got fuel getting to the carby, we got fuel coming out the top of the carby but no fuel getting to the motor. i'm pretty sure the accelerator pump is screwed. got told today i might need an electric fuel pump to get fpr up? i thought i'd ask before i go breaking gaskets. please does anyone know anything bout sidedraft webers

nah have pulled all the jets out and all good

strip 'em and rebuild that way you know whats what.... thats all I do...

yer but they were rebuilt awhile ago but not by me so fuck knows they could have left the accelerator pump diapram out for all we know lol. also for some strange reason when u turn the accelerator rod running through the carby there isnt much resistance. normal?

hard to say.... you should be able to look down the throat of the carbie when you push on the accel pump and see a squirt of fuel.... the car should still run with out a accel pump anyways..

yer its side draft so cant get my head between the strut tower and carb lol

Just a quick one if you have fuel comming out the top your carby it will be flooding.
Take the top off the carby and hold the top so the float is pointing down the needle should be shut in this position. IE with the float parrellel to the body.




Also you don't need a electric pump for twins datto pump will do just fine the engine dosn't use the fuel any quicker

hey guys well its the carby got the car running with the standard carby gotta love datsun tuffness oringinal carby been sitting in shed for a yr pull it out blow it with air and throw it on and fires straight away lol. bush mechanics or what. so looks like ill just get a kit for the single sidedraft and have a looksie, cheers devo and roller
