Motorkhana info
All you need for a motorkhana is a working car. no safety gear needed, but seeing as its 40km out of darwin, you will need some way to get there. hughes airstrip is 2km past Noonamah servo, and literally 10m after the 130 speed limit sign on the left. there is a sign there and a small power station kind of thing. just follow the dirt track to the strip.
newly updated for 2008 - more as it becomes available
This event will be run as a CAMS event and all participants will need a CAMS licence for the day. A single day licence is available at the concessional rate for over 17 year olds and this is included in the cost of entry for those who do not have any form of CAMS licence. cost of entry is $30
The single day licence can be upgraded to a level 2 Non Speed Licence for those wanting to compete in the full series. Cost is $50.00 for the year.
Cost for 12 - 17 year olds is only $13 for the full year (again, included in $30 entry fee).
general license info
NAMSC membership day $22 year $99
CAMS Level 2 license day $42 year $88 ($48 for drifting only)
CAMS LICENSE APPLICATIONS CAN BE COMPLETED ON THE SATURDAY AT SCRUTINEERING

Lap sprint:
entry fee $22
after the appropriate licenses (day or year of both NAMSC and CAMS)
scrutineering
you will need to show up on the saturday before the race meet between 11 and 1 or 10 to 2 (ill confirm that later)
just a quick check to make sure brake lights work and nothing is hanging off.
if you want to get out of there really quick, take everything you can out of your car.
for the race day:
you will need enclosed shoes, a long sleeve shirt, long pants and a helmet. open face or full face it doesnt matter. you will need to be there by about 8.
tape up all glass lights as well! headlights and foglights if you have them. then just go through scrutineering again and you will get it signed off.
there is a discussion about racing lines and how to navigate corners that can be found *here*
drifting:
entry fee $44 (after licenses)
all requirements are the same. time, clothes, etc.
drift and circuit: no passengers!
(except possibly on the fun days)
helmets
your best bet would be to buy a helmet if you plan on racing at 3 or more events. they can be picked up new for ~ $160
failing that, if you ask nicely im sure SOMEONE on here will be able to lend you one
spectating - entry $5
