Date has now been confirmed as 3rd November for a 1 day event only!!!
Quote from SportCompact.net.au:NOVEMBER 3RD SET FOR 2007 CASTROL EDGE JAMBOREE VER 2.0
After the diappointment of the postponment, of the August 25/26 Castrol EDGE Jamboree due to weather and track conditions, we are finially able to confirm the re-scheduled event will be run on Saturday the 3rd of November. The re-scheduled event got of to a false start last week after securing Oct 13th as the new date. The venue was available but it was confirmed Tuesday that Willowbank was unable to supply the qualified staff to run the event with 300 competitors. It turns out that October 13th was the same date as the Warwick Drag Fest which is Warwick's biggest event. I for one didn't think it would be an issue if the 2 events ran on the same weekend but, a large number of the Willowbank staff, also work at the Warwick track for these big events. So we had a date but without the staff to run it a date had to be sort. Both the Sport Compact Group and the management of Willowbank Raceway sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this has caused on top of the rainout of Aug 25/26.
NEW INFORMATION as at 28.10.07Tickets:
- Present your Saturday Aug 25th ticket and you'll receive 50% of the normal ticket purchase price of $30.
- Present your Sunday Aug 26th ticket and you'll receive free entry to the event.
- Present your 2 day Aug 25th/26th ticket and you'll receive free entry to the event.
Drag Racing: Being the November 3rd event is a continuation of the re-scheduled August 25/26 event, no entries will be accepted for Sports Bike, Street FWD, Street RWD & Street AWD. These classes are seeded and ready to race. Street FWD, Street RWD & Street AWD vehicles may enter the ET Class. For further information on the racing, see ...here...
Dyno: There will be no Dyno at the new event.
Trade Stands: Majority will be back for the new event.
Show n Shine: will purely be a show as all awards have already been given out, however, all entrants from the Saturday and Sunday will be re-invited free of charge... Anyone interested in putting your car in the display at the new date will still receive a shirt and entry etc for $30.00, if you are interested, please contact mark@sportcompact.net.au
Glow Off: There will be no Glow Off at the new event.
Sound Off: Sorry, there will not be a Sound Off at the re-scheduled November 3rd event. In place of the Sound Off , Northfield Car Sound, will have an awesome display of car audio and entertainment equipped vehicles for you to check out, plus industry specialists to give advise on your next car audio and entertainment needs
On-Stage Entertainment: Their will be a form of a competition run again and possibly other stuff... still in the making as it needs to run to a budget... will confirm the new On-Stage Entertainment Agenda once Ray and i have sorted this...

Well piss off then
Some people go to these events to actually race not just perve on bitches. Have a cry over your $15. Cost me about $1000 for 1 run so far. My mate from NSW spent about $3500.

On the positive side of things now, I for one could not make it out to the rained out event. This is the first Jamboree I have missed in several years. Now that they have re-scheduled, there is a good chance that I will be able to make it out. Yay.

Since budget is an issue why worry about of off track entertainment. While no doubt it compliments the track action when their are oil downs etc etc, Jambo has always been about the racing since the VW days and hopefully always be.
Im sure the fact then when both days where called off their was a mass exodus can back this up.
People want to see racing first and foremost the rest at most is a bonus to some. The racers just want to race.
Also I think its a good move keeping the spectators happy, while they might not of payed as much as an individual racer, they keep the $$$ flowing into the kitty to make the next event bigger and better. Alienating them does not do anyone any favours. Anyone doing some quick sums on a few 1000 people paying $30 a day can get what im saying.
Bring on Jambo VER2.0

Due to the fact that we didn't finish qualifying on Aug 25th we have been able to re-open entries in most classes. Being that qualifying was completed in the Street FWD, Street RWD, Street AWD & Sports Bike classes we can't accept entries for these classes. Cars that would normally fit into the above classes will be eligible for the ET class though. So, entries will be accepted for ET, all Motor, Front Mod, Street 289, Super Mod, Extreme, Outlaw Sports Bike, Pro Compact & Pro Turbo. I know there were plenty of racers that weren't ready for Aug 25/26 so here is your chance.
Nov 3 will see the Show-N-Shine and Club Displays back for display purposes only. Judging for the Show-N-Shine and Club Displays were completed and trophies awarded on Aug 25/26. We are inviting all Show-N-Shine Entrants back, to display their vehicles on Nov 3 at no cost along with the Club Displays too. We've also re-opened the Show-N-Shines entries but no judging will be performed.
ALL ENTRIES CLOSED 8PM 26 OCT!!!!!
