just a few questions someone may know cos im sick of dick head wreckers not havin a clue....

about my 1990 hilux 2x4 single cab petrol :

are there any other year models that the doors will fit on? considering both of mine are bashed in?

were can i buy front and back lower leaf springs and shocks for a good price?

are there any small mods i can do to the engine? its got the 22r engine ute model is rn85.... carby wise or intake wise? dont want to waste the money doin some drastic conversion as i only bought it for work, but want a lil more power to pull a jetski.....

runs on gas too so dont know if i could do some sort of carby swap to webbers and top filter or somethin.... cos ive noticed its due for a carby kit, and i had one done on my old skool hilux (78 model) and that cost me near $500!!

any help would be great...

firstly surf doors, 4x4 doors and all 1989-96 hiluxs will fit. newer shapes will with minor mods, or may even just bolt on not sure....

ring around suspension places, you can get ur springs reset

engine wise not really they are a shit motor, maybe extractors and exhaust but i wouldnt waste my money especially running on gas there isnt many options

only 1989 4runner doors (two door, not 4 door) will fit your single cab the 4 door surf doors are smaller! 89-96 single cab and extra cab doors will bolt straight up but again, dual cab doors are smaller and won't work!

Personally mate, i wouldn't waste any cash on the 22r, the the $$$ you could spend your not going to gain much!

As for your leaf springs.......front????you got torsions in the front!!!!

Hey man, I have a pair or stock hilux (single cab) doors for sale. If you're keen, PM me. I also have two stock rear leaf packs if thats what you're after.

Later model doors will not fit on, the door jams are completely different.

yeh i was thinkin later model doors mighten fit cos the little grove that goes along the whole door towards the bottom is a different shape to alot of the new model ones.... the main reason im gonna keep the engine is cos its just a work ute and the fella i bought it off put a new engine in, in 98 which ive got the paper work for.. and according to the km dash reading since the new engine its only done 80 000 kms.

also need all new suspension and shit cos it was a fire wood delivery ute, so its shagged in that department

Im in the same situation. , The young fella just got L"s and when he goes on P's cant drive a modified vehicle so I have to beef up the 22r dunno.gif

get your rear leaf springs reset. Cost me $150 to get them reset to sit 4inches lower and $30 for urethane bushes. Wound the torsion bars out on the front and lowered it about 5" then cut down the bumpstops front and rear. For the engine i suggest new extractors such as lukey(they do make em) a new cam from http://www.engnbldr.com/Toyota-Hotlicks.htm trust me ther really good and reliable go 4 the 268° cam and a pod filter and should be sweet! Cheap mods that make a difference

Weber or holley, nice tow camshaft and piss the gas off.

nah man i need the gas ay.. i only get around 60 - 70 km's on $10 fuel and around 120km's on gas for $10... and being a plasterer i work all over the place.
SIKUNIT
In that case, putting a bigger carby and cam in isnt a good idea. If your that worried about the fuel consumption that is.
