just wanting a bit of advice...

ive got windows xp 2000, its about 4 years old and i just got it reformatted. Ever since it was reformatted the screen tends to lag. For example when I scroll down on a website the screen doesnt gradually appear it tends to stop and then a new picture will come up.

if anyone could give me any advice it would be appreciated

Thanks smile.gif

hmmm find the chipset out of ur mainboard and download and reinstall the latest vga drivers thats all it sounds like

Mine does the same thing after a fresh formatted install. It seems that windows auto-detects the screen and video card and uses a generic driver. This restricts my refresh rate, reolution, quality. Everything.

Just install your vga drivers. If it's onboard video (built-in to your motherboard) the drivers will be on the cd that came with it (or the website of the manufacturer). If you have an added vid card, then use the drivers from the vid cards cd.

Think you mistaken my initial question. I was asking what do you have Windows Xp or Windows 2000 as you were saying you have windows xp 2000, not what specs your computer hardware is tongue.gif . And yes you will need to install the latest drivers for your video card brand SiS. smile.gif

well you've got onboard video. So expect some lag. But update the drivers. Check your monitor refresh rates settings.
