I have a Sony Ericsson K750i - it's lasted me ages but is really starting to play up. Turning off randomly, or turning off to the slightest jolt - I dropped it about 10cm's onto my bed and it turned off, my bed is really soft. It's also slow and laggy at times and is just generally pissing me off.
What kind of phone do you have? Do you love it or loathe it? And what is the best phone to get at the moment?

I just bought a Motorola V3. Only $199. It's pre paid so I just chucked my sim from my old phone in it.
So far so good. Does everything it should.
Took a bit of a gamble though. My last Motorola had problems re charging and the camera died on it after a year.

There are phones soon to be released that have 3.2MP camera's and other specs I'll find the info and post it.
QUOTE
From another site
like the ipod itself, the battery will not be removable by the customer, so if it dies, or starts to get dodgy, be prepared to send it into apple.
personally, i can't believe how pathetic the specs are on this thing. to be releasing NEXT year, and only have EDGE, which is hardly used here, is a joke. as is the 2MP camera, by then, 3.2MP at least will be the default. this year, i plan to upgrade my 3G 2MP 4GB walkman phone, to a new sony ericsson that has HSDPA, a 3.2MP camera at least, oh, and costs less than the iphone will. if anyone has seen the sony ericsson W950i or M600i phones in the shops, the thin, PDA like touch pad phones... they're being remodelled this year, to include a 3.2MP camera and wifi, so i might look at those.
i seriously don't know why apple is bothering with the mobile phone sector. with such fierce competition already, resulting in well specced, well priced phones, it's hard to imagine apple making a killing by peddling under specced phones with the apple premium.
i suspect they're only doing this, as not to be left behind in the personal music market, but how will they do this time, being virtually last to the table?

Jan 22 2007, 12:41 PM

oooo must be true then
Anyway each to thier own.
On my third ipod now. Never ever had a drama with them or the battery.

Jan 22 2007, 12:44 PM
The battery isn't the only Spec that is in question - why only a 2 MP camera when there is Technology for better.
Apple have stuck their foot into a big mess this time I think.

I got a Nokia N73, i have had motorola's, siemens, and other brand phones, but Nokia been always the best and most reliable.
My N73 has 3.2mp camera, uses same lense as sony does for it's video cameras.
But it really comes down to what you want the phone for, just simple calls and sms then simple style Nokia the go.

Yes I agree, plus all the after market stuff you can get, plus they easier to unlock if pre paid, by yourself that is not network, they want to much money to do that.

nokia all the way. the iPhone is a PDA, and there are plenty of PDAs on the market. only difference is teh mac operating system, instead of a microsoft one.
i have had flashy phones, and a phone with too many functions give me the sh1ts. i need to make calls, recieve sms, and have an alarm clock. only excessive function that i ever appreciated in a phone was the torch, and i use it all the time. and the only reason i ever upgraded from my trusty 5100 was becase i got a 5140i for sweet nothing in the uk.

Even thou the stats may not match up to sony/nokia, im sure they will be just as popular due to marketing. Its the beez-kneez in the phone fashion industry!
meh @ the battery issue, same goes to say for any electrical componant in most electrical device. One would think this day and age batteries wouldnt be the issue... its more the software now! They wont be in aus till next year, but they get released to public mid this year. E-bay is already taking bulk orders. but yes.. next year when they get released in aus they will be out-dated. but its that 6months of 'check out my sick new iphone' thats worth it.
chicks dig guys with iPhones!

Did a little research about the phones mentioned, some sound ok, some seem to have problems and some have upgraded models about to be released!
in the Nokia N Series, the N95 is being released this month apparently and has GPS and a 5 MP camera

be interesting to find out how fast the GPS is.
The N70 looks better than the N73, the N73 having lag issues according to Cnet.
I've had a Samsung and don't like them, I'm tossing up between the new Nokia or getting an upgraded SE
Darkness
Jan 22 2007, 04:47 PM
Well the N70 looks okay, but I like the N73 better, plus has better camera. And well is newer model.
But it comes down to personal preference, plus well you should go out and check the phones out in the shops, better to see them up close and check them out that just looking at them on the net.
I've had no probs with my N73.

any phone with connection to the web (GPRS or CDMA) and Java script enabled can do GPS if you buy the program. i have seen it used on a 3250 as a speedo in a car to good accuracy.

Well if you get the newer Nokia's they come with data cables, so you can download free games and stuff and install them on your phone.
Plus well Nokia's better known for their ease of use, plus handy to have phone with cam, you never know when you might spot that rare car on the road or parked somewhere. Or that hot babe.

If you really wanna test how good your phone is, have a couple of kids and let them play with it. If it survives and still works, then you got yourself a good phone.

Of course, lock the keypad, don't want the police calling you back, like what happened to my wife.
