Heard on the radio today that since the introduction of the ''Hoon Laws'', over 900 cars have been impounded, with the most common being the Holden Commodore. Doesnt surprise me with all these ''fully sicks'' doing ''hektic skids'' in their commodores tongue.gif , but do you think the new hoon laws are working?
parabol
i'd like to see more cops on the road, out here in the easturn areas (ie. knox, Glen waverley, Burwood etc) there doesnt seem to be all that much, but thursday/sat nights they are usually few in numbers.

if a death is avoided and a car is impounded as a result, i have no problems with that what-so-ever, at the end of the day a car is a weapon many familys have been broken due to retards behind the wheel where they cant keep it in their pants and feel the need to show off, im not saying that im perfect (i drive a FWD car - reverse burnouts:|) but everyone likes to have fun, but when you push the line thats when serious shit happens, there are areas where you can go and do this kind of driving insted of doing it in the streets.

as ive said, if a death is avoided, and someone loses their car (and they deserve it) then no gripes from me.

down here where i live, we dont really have nay 'hoon' problems. maybe when i move into the mulgrave/noble park area this will effect us more...

They sure as hell will be starting soon, im just awaiting for the police down in the west to start defecting sad.gif

and i only just got my new springs in =\

I think that there should be less cops on the roads but also a ban on retards being allowed to drive cars.
Dorimon
I think there should be more cops on the road, if you do something stupid, you pay the consiquences. But they shouldnt just pick on you just because you own a modified car, me, being a p plater and driving a wrx, i get pulled over quite often of ''just a random breath test'' dry.gif .
parabol
i know what you mean, driving along normally, and you get flagged down.

i get flagged down a fair bit in the city (usually on city road / queensbridge) when im driving through between 1-4am. but when theres a booze bus setup and their testing people, 9/10 times i get waved through, a tad wierd.

but yet again, not driving a proformance machine.

If you don't mind me asking but why less cops?, and there are already bans on high powered cars coming in for new P platers this year.

And i am 100% behind parabol in saying that if you want to have fun, leave it on the track...and it don't cost much to do a practice day at say caulder or the other major track.
antonio
They should remove all the shit heap XE's with more rust then a scrap yard for starters.. Dont see why a lowered car or a car with a loud exhaust is worst off on the road then a car with no brake lights, a drivers window and no number plate lights(proof saw it on the way home from work)

Hmm, Thus is true. I got my Ps on monday. Drove like a fuckwit asoon as I got in my car. But now relised theres no point. So I will drive just like when I was on my L's.. Better to learn now, Then after I hit something/one. wink.gif

I reckon the new rules are good. But the cops need to watch everyone, Not just P-platers with modified cars... thumbsup.gif

I hate people in holdens and utes... Theyre usually the people that are getting done for these things.

especially VL's bro tongue.gif ! but i definately agree, they should stop targeting p plate drivers. there are plenty more worse drivers out on the road, especially the soccer mums that are running late to their kids match, geez, learn how to drive angry.gif
CereaL
lol @ soccer mums ...

its usually the kids pressuring the parents to speed ...

"mum im going to be late... hurry up!!!"

i have to say i use to do this when i was younger .. im sure everyone did
Dorimon
i have to admit, i was like that when i was younger.

''quick dad, the footys gonna start soon!''

MiTCHOS

MiTCHOS
also from vic on my red p's smile.gif represent lol
turbofreak
i drive a modded turbo car and havent been pulled ovr once. I am on my green p plates at the moment until the end of the months and have had the car for nearly a year. Its on 17's but dont look like its a modded turbo i must say. How ever it is loud, and i dont drive like a retard and do a skid at every corner. I have never had troubles with cops trageting me even though i have driven loud cars and let everone know i am coming.
THORPE84
they are working a little bit but not much.

The cops need more units at strange hours of the morning in hot spots to do anything that might be slighty considerd effective.

as always, it all comes down to money.

i think the new hoon laws (3-6month ban) is a good idea.
R32 DRFT4
laws are gay... if you get impounded its not going to stop you is it? just another way to make money and pick on the moddified cars.
VDUB
I live in St Albans, shit gets pretty crazie down here. I think the new hoon law is a good ldea, but we will see how it goes.

Its people like this who ruin it for the rest of us, and the amount of kids in their Ps that pull up next to me in holdens and act like street racers really does my head in. I cant wait to get off my Ps and get a turbo machine, these idiots are making it harder for us P platers though, thanks alot guys!
