Ok...
Has anyone had a felt-ish sorta material before? If you have, you will more than likely agree how much of a kent it is to clean!
Well, Im sorta thinking of going a nice Marine Vynal or a Cheap-o leather... Mainy because it always looks good, and easy to clean!
I will be keeping the exact same design as I already have on the inside... The red and black!
Just want a few opinons!

i think it will look good in red and black vinyl/leather and you can get some good stuff for a very reasonable price if you shop around and you can get a big range of colours, i'd say go for it

But even a marine vynal is heaps nice! They did my XA interior out of that, and it looks awesome! Looks like leather, feels like leather, and smells like leather... BUT, it isnt leather! What a blow out...

Not a very original insult mate. I don't bag you about buying a 300ZX, a car that is reported to handle like a boat and be extremely unfriendly to modifiers do I? Everything Calais you see on my car was bought for a grand total of $500. I never set out to build a Calais replica, I just couldnt turn down cheap parts.
To build a fast car you have to start with a good base I believe, hence why I made subtle improvements to my car. Moe has more than a good base to start with so I reckon its about time to start getting serious and making the thing move!!
SIM300
Dec 31 2006, 11:44 AM
I wasn't insulting you... every person is entitled to their own opinion. I have seen you post a few times,
why bother, doesn't make it faster... But the fact is, its not all about going fast! Some people are after the WHOLE package.
You are also entitled to your opinions on a 300ZX. It doesn't worry me in the slightest what others think, specially if they have never driven/worked on the car before. It's a bonus when people think Z's are boats etc... as I know there are a lot of people out there that feel the same way. Just makes it more enjoyable when I hand their arse to them on a plate

I seriously love the material that is in it... But for an everyday car to be used as a show car also, it isnt really 'user friendly'

I had thought about it... but I dunno, I sorta like the change of colour on the inside...
But you are right, it would look pretty damn sweet...

But me being a picky bugger, id then have to change my neons to yellow, and repaint all my calipers to Acid Rush... I was keeping red highlights here and there!
What does everyone else think?

i could hav a very nice NOT SONY shopping list written up quickly

y not mustard and black and still have a few red highlights ie instrument cluster red mayb red gear boot but doors and seats mustard/black im sure it would work out dude that way you wouldnt have to change brakes colour or speakers if you didnt want too.
moe002
Jan 1 2007, 05:53 PM
Hmmms...

I still find it amusing... The people who bag out my Sony gear, are the ones who dont have a decent car stereo

But yes, the speakers shall be changed, because I cant find another set of the same for the front doors (not even on back order

)
Ill have a think about it...
But, I reckon Ill be keeping the red and black!!! Mustard and black would look hot as... might save that for Rolla Bus II

(a twinky)...

i've got stock speakers...... someone please have a go at me
far out people.....
Moe, ur sony gear is good.... turns up loud.... thats all u need!

^^^ Agree with that also. But there is nothing wrong with having a few people throw a few opinons at Moe. It might help him make a decision or two. Personally Moe, I have never been one for a colour clash, I don't know why just hasn't really been appealing to me. I do think Shaun has hit the nail on the head with the mustard/black leather it would look really neat. And even if you did have to change a few things eg. speakers calipers and neons, just sell your old gear and you will end up finding you will get most of the cash you need to do it back. But in the end as J said it is your car, have it how you want it. I just think it's good that people are throwing some options your way that maybe you hadn't thought of previously
moe002
Jan 1 2007, 09:56 PM
Yeah thanks guys for the opinions, that is what I am after!!!

I know a fair few people like the clashing of my interior...
To me, the car has two 'rooms', inside and ouside... So both should look different... Hell, you can only really be at one at a time

So, sorry guys who arent keen, but Im going to leave the colours as is. Shaun, it was a great idea, and you had me thinking there for a few seconds

, but yeah, I dont think the Rolla Bus would be the same without red highlights!

Dont forget you can use stitching to highlight colours as well - i.e. black leather/vinyl with red stitching etc.
Good luck with the change Moe - if the rest of your car is anything to go by, whatever you decide to do is going to match your theme and look fantastic anyway

Its hard trying to decide what to do with interiors - I'm still tossing up what to do with mine, I like leather but I dont like aftermarket leather (it just doesnt sit the same as factory), but velour is nice but like you say hard to clean - so I've put the interior / install thing in the too hard basket for the moment

could u get it done over the dash to protect it ?

You could get a dash mat for every day and just take it off for car shows? Anything you put on it that's clear (like a plastic cover or something) is probably just going to intensify the heat. Its times like this its a real bugger you couldnt get the front window tinted just a little.
moe002

But only prop is, the dash has been shortened and gauges sitting on top, so it wont fir

And it would more than likely scratch the clear coat
