I got all the marketplace downloads on silver, just cant play online. I just hate the idea of paying subscriptions, it shits me, I dont wanna pay for something Im not using you know, would much rather pay buy the hour... but meh, what can u do, im sure I will just get drunk and bored one night n whip out the old credit card.

Condemned is great... 5.1, hi def tv, pitch black it will scare the shite it out of you, its fkn excellent like that, best sound in a game I have ever heard, mind you, it was the first game I played on my new system, but still the best sounding game since then. Environment gfx are top notch, fantastic lighting and texture work.

I played through maybe half, perhaps a bit more, n stopped. The game play just gets old, I got sick of it, also got sick of being on edge, you cant really relax and play, unless u turn the sound down n lights on, but that defeats the purpose of playing. Once I got over the "scare" gimick, if that makes sense, that was it. Worth a rent, not a buy IMO.

i was contemplating buying saints row, but held back... any good?

the online part of saints row is frustrating,but single player...awesome, can hardly fault it and it is certainly up there on par with gta games if not better

I reckon I'll wait till 360s hit the 400 mark like i did with my xbox...do they play halo and shit fine? As long as i can still play halo and splinter cell i guess theres no point buying a cheap xbox when i can grab a 360...

yeah they still play a list of old games, simple as getting an update off the net, burning it to a cd then putting it in the 360.

about 90% of the games do...if you have xbox live and go to play a old game it just downloads and installs the update for you

yeh halo works fine, ig to halo 1 and 2 and they are fine on it, the whole grand theft auto series works fine aswell.

Add Dead Rising to my list now, bought it yesterday...awesome but quite hard game, chainsaw FTW!

Just quietly test drive would have to be one of the worst driving games i've played....even project gotham 3 ripped over it.

I thought forza was way more realistic in regards to how cars take off...eg. fishies, acceleration

definitely gt4 for sliding though.....but forza has a better handbrake....and you can change gears with the joystick

Got a 360 as well. Picked up 9am on the day they came out (stupidly sold my xbox in Feb ready for the early March release - was not happy when it got delayed).

Ya think ? Ive been playing gta since the gta demo =P back on the old P150 and had no trouble picking up Saints Row.

I grabbed Import Tuner Challenge on the w/e. Its not bad, kinda bland though. I played through, and loved, Tokyo Extreme Racer (Zero) on ps2, ITC being its successor I figured it would be as much fun... the modding is fun, and i love tweaking car settings, but the racing got so repedative, the other guys cars simply arn't quick enough, making it no challenge, and if you dont already know, all the racing is done on a highway.

Worth a rent, not a buy.

now i've played saints row a bit more its becoming easier. it seems to be a bit easy just being able to run into a gang shoot out and capping everyone by yourself

Got myself a 360 last tuesday, the premium system for only $380 including PGR3... I'm hooked on it now. I've got Gears of War and that Table Tennis game, I also paid for, and downloaded Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 from Xbox Live Arcade!

It only works out to be about $13 for UMK3 otto, bargain if ya ask me! 800 microsoft points. This was my favourite game on the Mega Drive, but it is so nice to see it in HD, basically arcade perfect but the computer seems a bit more unpredictable (ie. cheats more), because you might win the first 3 fights convincingly and then get your arse handed to you over and over by the 4th person.

I will check out Saints Row, I keep hearing good things about it.

Gears of War is good, I played that coop with the wife the other day... heaps of fun.

Gears of War multiplayer freakin owns, it hasn't left my console since I got the thing. Nothing like a good 14 hour straight stint on a friday nite afta a long week at work =)

Single player looks phenominal, great game all round, easily the best current gen game around atm.

Oh yeah, if you plan on getting the wireless steering wheel, dont by PGR, because the wheel comes with a force feedback edition of it. I also wanna sell my PGR if some1 wants it, for that very same reason =)

GMB - My better half gave me a call and said her collegue was selling one on their intranet, I bargained a bit more and got it for $380. It is second hand but still looks and plays brand new... I think the existing profile only had something like 30 gamerscore, he had not played it much!

Toucher - I got to Act 2 on GOW last night, I loved the boss at the end of the first one! I am also surprised that the game manages to get even better!

Well... before last week, if you'd have asked me if I wanted one I would have probably answered 'not really, not until they are more affordable'. I had not played a console game since I moved house in April and had no inspiration to set up the Xbox at all (hence the sale). I thought I was over them, and games all together... Until this offer came up! Now I am hooked, with all the stuff that is available for download on Xbox Live Marketplace (Free demos of EVERY game) and the Gamerscore system to give you some inspiration to build up your profile.

I am not really up with all the games that are due out for the system because it was such a spontaneous decision. I guess I look forward to GTA4, Forza 2 and MGS4 (if it comes out on the Xbox), but I'm sure there will be other decent games that come about like Gears of War too.

Seems to me like the PS3 wont be worth the price tag, most developers already appear more keen on the Microsoft system because it already has an established market.

the other reason is if they develop a game for pc its pretty much a straight swap over onto xbox unlike the ps2 and ps3 coming.

MGS4 is PS3 exclusive.

PS3 is delayed till march. It is far more powerful than the 360, but, its far more difficult for developers to unleash that power, very similar to the ps2/xbox story. Basically that means we will see some kick arse exclusives and inhouse ps3 games, and ports of every other game that will looks = 360.

XBOX Live + 360 really is a kick arse online experience, you can dl games, demos, HD movies and TV shows, "expansion pax" (eg extra levels, extra cars), VoIP chat is sweet =)

Rainey - single player GoW is short as, like 8 hours, so dont rip through it =) and dont bother doing it on casual (if you are, but im sure a big man such as yourself wouldn't dream of it), its far to easy.

Oh I need all the help I can get. I'm only about (guessing) 1/3 of the way through Act 2 on GoW and I still get owned in most battles. I don't have a good telly or a 5.1 system, how povo am I! Haha.

I read that MGS4 might be coming to Xbox 360 now.

ps3 was delayed heaps because its using blue ray instead of dvd. and basically theres only 1 company thats making blue ray drives.

still when ps3 was released in america there was heaps of shootings and stuff while people waited out to get one.

True, 1k is just crazy... Combine it with a few of the games that will retail around $119 again and your up for a big hit in the back pocket. I might get one eventually, but not before it proves itself... Gran Turismo (the ultimate car encyclopedia) generally lacks any real driving experience, it just has good graphics and a stack of cars and customisation... I want to see some innovation... Perhaps one day they'll even include skidmarks from the cars and real AI! Lol.

theres a few companies making blue ray drives, there was a shortage of blue ray laser diodes =) theres only one manufacturer for those.

The best thing about the $1 price it it means there will be less little kids playing online screaming down the mic.

Table tennis is very addictive! but it gets old pretty quick, unless you have some1 to play against.

MGS4 was announced as a PS3 exclusive, however a couple of days ago, some they made an announcement saying it will 'be a ps3 exclusive, for now', which is PR talk for having your cake (exclusive), and eating it too (multi platform later).

-a computer joint in adelaide(hindley street, across from UNISA city west campus) is currently selling exclusive import stock PS3's for 1250 with ridge racer and one control

-the controls are really wierd, you can have it set to and RPG mode so when you turn the remote (as in phisically in your hands) the camera view goes with it, very wierd but i can see why it could be good for RPG and Shoot em' up games
