What the hell is ur pic supposed to be of. Ur profile pic is the most over exposed P.O.S photo I have ever seen, and I mean shit for a camera phone. It's just a white silhouette with eyes and a mouth. U can't critsise anyone... U even wrote "I'm not judgemental" in ur profile! Fair enough, u were refering to kinky experimental sex with strangers though (twice in the same sentence). Not photography.
On Topic:
Sink one is ok, The 1st one is pretty average though. Crappy harsh direct sunlight with a shadow over ur face, (Always do it when it is overcast (to difuse the light). Or at sunset with a longer exposure and small amount of flash) It is not cropped enough and the color is a bit washed out.
When u do the sink ones use a fast(ish) exposure (about 1/250) small(ish) aperture f.7.1 - f.8 and use the flash to better define the water.
If u have NFI what those settings mean then consult your manual, u put them into manual mode, or Aperture/Exposure Priority mode.
Also with the sink ones use something plain, clean and stainless steel or chrome (but not something that says stainless steel!). With close ups like that u dont want something like writing or rust in the corners to 'dirty' a photo that has the potential to be so clean, sharp and modern looking.
Harry (back to my old pushy ways

, not that I ever left them!)

Does photography need to be of anything in particular? You never heard of abstract art?

Hey just on the second pic in the sink....I recon it's a good pic but would be even better if you could see what it is that the water is pouring onto, move the spoon/ladel/lifter to the right a bit so you can see part of or all of it, that will make more sense....Cam

mmmmm... not a fan. Again with the direct sunlight, harsh shadows and bad skin tones from it, weird look on her face, the blue against the blue... not good. Flower has good composition but it is out of focus and the color is washed out. Also not the best flower to use.
Also u did a triple post and U need to re-size badly.

I'm not saying be nice, I'm saying go easy. Everyone starts somewhere and as Millie admits she's just started. No point bombarding her with comments like that.
Encouragment can go just as far.
By the way mate you might wanna check some of your horizons. They appear to lean to the right in a few shots.

I just mean that if i put in the effort u might wanna respond with some sort of acknowledgement, like, "thanks Harry, I'll try that". I post like that because that is how most good photographers like to be responded to. Not with plain compliments or encouragement. A post that just says "good work" is not going to help anyone.

No I disagree.
There's a difference between good constructive critisism and being plain rude and arrogant.
Mate I'm not all that fussed about your stuff but I wouldn't think about being rude to you about it. Go back and look at some of the photo's you took when you started and see if they are much beter than Millies.
Another thing. Anyone with a digital SLR, A couple of semi decent lenses and photoshop can take good photos.
How about trying it with wet film (where you can't see what you took and delete if you don't like it) and no didgital enhancement and then see what your photos are like.
That is the sign of a good photorapher IMO

OK mate, you need to get your facts straight first. (Damn I get into this shit every time!) I have not been rude. I have been honest. I did not say anything that was not constructive, my critisisms are all supported with FACTS and if you use facts it has ABOSUTLEY NOTHING TO DO WITH MY WORK! You base the credibility of what I am saying on the facts in them not how good my own shots are, they are irrelivant.
So far you hve come up with one fact and one pointless comment about mine. The fact was regarding the crooked horizon, which had already been pointed out, by other people.I acknowldged it and thanked them for the help.
Last time I checked Millie DOES HAVE A DLSR!! she said she owns a 350D, thats a DSLR. Semi-Decent lenses? would you like to clarify that? What lenses are you thinking of?
I fail to see what this has to do with wet film. But yes I have tried it and no they were not brilliant, so yes, i do take better photos with digital, try finding a person who doesn't. I still dont see how that is related to millie who actually has a more expensive DSLR than I do. Does she use wet film?
I am not going to post in this thread anymore because I am obviously of no help to you. I will post elsewhere, where critisism is wanted.

Theres nothing rude and arrogant about what harry said. Most people on this site like it when they get critism about there photos, I know that i like it. Harry usually gives the best critism, as he said its alot better then just saying that they are good pics or shit pics, he expains why.
And why are you talking about harry's pics, this topic is aoubts millie's pics.
Post up your pics and show us.

I didnt say Millie used wet film. I just said in my opinion that's the sign of a good photographer.
I was also showing you how it feels to receive critisism that sound arrogant.
I'm not saying you have to say "yes nice pics millie" but maybe take in to consideration her lack of experience at the moment and provide more constructive critisism in a more friendly manner. All I read in your post was that you shot someone down in flames who probably needs some encouregment.
Then when she didn't reply to your post you became abusive.

I enjoy getting critisms, I am not going to thank you for giving it to me under these circumstance though. you have only given it to me to try and piss me off (although i am not sure how it hurts or annoys me in any way) Had you posted that in my own forum I would have said "Thanks, i'll fix that up. Cheers" not get pissy like you seem to. My critism is VERY constructive, I wrote a FULL guide to help millie take better photos and all i got was... well fuck all. So dont worry I'm not going to help her if she is just going to ignore the effort I put in to helping her out. I add nice comments where they are due, eg. "the composition is good" etc. but I am not going to lie ok.
I am not here to rub someone's ego. I dont give a shit how arrogant you think I sound. I am here to give an objective opinion and help people improve their photography. You should check out some other sites. They tear my photos apart. I fukin love it! It is by far the best way to improve your shots.
I'm not sorry for what I said. If Millie can't take critism then she shouldnt be here.

I think this has been a case of misreading a person . Harry is blunt and straight to the point and does'nt sugar coat, ever since i have started posting in this section Harry has done nothing but help my own photo's with constructive critism and i have taken this on board and imo my photo's have improved (still not very good though).
And imo Harry is one of the best photographers on this site and puts a hell of a lot of effort and time into his photo's. All he is trying to do is help.

Start simple and work from there.

Nice work mate, U had some very valid points.
But anyway. Millie I think you have potential and you look like you're eager to learn some new stuff. I always enjoy model photography like in your first lot. Keep it up, trust me these people will make you improve a thousand times faster if you give their advice a shot.
Well done

P.S. I just realised I didn't contribute a single thing in this post so i thort I'd add in: Don't EVER cut out the feet in a full body photo (like u did in ur second model shot). Same goes with hands in mid shots, and if you ever put someones head in the midde of the frame and waste mass amounts of space on background things that don't add a speck of interest to the photo... I will have yo kill you. I'm a nazi when it comes to that, and straight horizons....
Ok I'm happy now...
