Dont bring bak POTW, bring in the top 5 system. In fact, i think we should do that this week.

When it dies down and everyone looses interest, it'll go back to the panel of judges system.

You know, it could work. But there's chance of bias. I've noticed people who know each other particularly well (or at least from the same state) only respond, critique and comment on their photography.

yes there are those (fanboys we'll call them) who love jumping all up on each others dicks whenever they post.

you get that in anything i suppose.

As I said - Harry's been the one most outspoken about this, so it can be his baby... that way when it goes wrong we all get to blame him

or i suck it up and accept that harry is the man when it comes to running photo comps

Sorry, I agree with matt. While its a good idea I think that it can be biased. Independants judgees is a much better idea.

Why not have a theme for the POTW. So say have a theme on Shapes or something and people enter photos in regards to a topic that matt posts on a sunday night?

I dont think group voting on one another is a good idea. I would loose intrest very quickly.

great idea DR1F7, themes would be good. Each week have a new topic with a new theme and you post your entry then you vote on them.

sounds just like every other photography forum, ever.


I'd rather just someone dictating an "honourable mentions" list.. maybe that person then pick their favourite of the week.. person who took the favourite then gives a listi of their favourites a following week (or something).

Ok Mattson, I'm not promising anything but I'm hoping to get something out of this. I spose it all just depends on whether people vote or not. So far we have 3 votes for Ronza's shot.

Nickle's shot (not just because I am a WA groupie!) I love it because it makes you feel like you are actually in the water and the long exposure settings are great, there is alot of motion to it.: [attachmentid=196777]

Woo, thanks for the nomination Harry and the comments on that photo guys. I sorta liked the way the PoTW was done here but if the whole photography forum can come together and vote each week I reckon that system could work too.

Twist shot is pretty sweet; I like that perspective.

Dont you hate how theres a rule of not to point and shoot, yet believe it or not, quite a few of my shots are 'point and shoot' However, on some images I do take time to get it right.

Cant vote for ur own. Also the only one's u had eligable for this week were the motorbike ones and, to be blunt, they were not as good as the ones in the top 6 this week. They were still good though.

You know, this isn't a good way of doing it. Maybe if the big dog puts up what he feels is the best 5-10 photos or something that were taken during the week, then he can put up a poll and we can just vote for the one that we feel is the best or whatever.

If everyone puts up 5 photo's, then we could end up with just a mess of votes.
