Over the last few weeks there have been good shots winning, i'm just not too sure if they were the 'best' shots of the batch... that includes mine... especially mine actually.

I understand that i have only been doing photography for 2 months so i am no expert. But IMO ALL of these shots are better than my one.
What do u guys think. I recon someone should select the best 10-15 pics per week and people can vote on them. Or perhaps find a new set of judges that is still unknown but as Dave said, contributers to the site.

We tried this last year with the photo theme'd contributions... the only problem was people got lazy and no one voted and desicions had to be veto'd all the time and people got upset.

and the competitions ended up being abandoned due to lack of interest...

That said, I'll take the request onboard... and bring on two more site specific judges to join the panel of three.

unfortunately, there will always be disagreements as some people are going to continue to believe their photos are better than others.

photography is subjective sint it? what some people like others wont? no offence to the winners but its not like this comp is very "prestigious" (sp) anyway. wot, do you list it on ur resume or something LOL. Ive seen alot of great photos, some bad, but I think were all here to enjoy n share them, soon from me hopefully LOL, not bitch and moan about it. i refrained from posting up my shots ive taken (just to share, not be criticized and nit picked) since theres alot of "oh thats bad, wrong, do this, not that" in the photography section and most likely will get bagged. advice is cool but not when people get too "involved" and think they know everything. its a car forum dammit! Anyway thats enough from me. Nice shot to the winner.

I agree with the others, i think this photo although conceptually is good, has been taken poorly and is fairly poor quality (i know it is designed that way but it just looks odd should have been left desaturated.)

I think theme weeks would be good but we will most likely run out of ideas quickly.

No photography is not subjective, only bad photography is! If u don't think u can hack a bit of critisism then thats ur choice but in my experience ite helps a shitload. People are only going to say something is wrong if it is. They are not doing it to piss u off, just helping u get better.
This is BY FAR the kindest photography site on the net. U wont get bagged, people will just tell u what is good and what u need to change for next time. If people didnt do this then u would just keep taking shit photos without ever improving. No one takes perfect pics so everyone is subject to it.
I have gone from clueless to selling photos for a fair bit of money in 2 months. Purley from the constructive critisism on this site, it is bloody good!
It is not prestigious award, it is more of a novelty but we all try and win, we dont take it too seriously though. All we are doing now is what we always do. Constructive Critisism, except this time it is the judges, not the photos.
Oh and btw, this is a PHOTOGRAPHY forum, on a car site. I dont see why this forum being on a car site means we cant say that something in a photo is wrong. It just means we like cars too, and last time i checked some pretty bad things have been said about people's rides. U dont want 2 be subject to critisism this site is not for 4 u.

to be honest i think a comp is a joke ment to be fun not to be the best or something. shrugs lol not trying to stir shit but there are alot of great photos goin on boost or boost photo i just think picking one a week is silly should have a gallery of top ten or something. just throwing ideas up but i def think the judging is rather homo none the less
