Well, I started my driving career in a family car *cough camry* and used to give it heaps.
Things slightly improved when Grandfather thinking that he was doing me a favour, and bought a 1990 Bitsamissin Magna on my behalf, and it would of been rude for me to decline to buy it off him. As a drivers car, it wasnt much better than the family camry, but at least it was manual.
I started cruising with a bunch of people who loved to get out in the twisty backroads and give their cars a flogging. Needless to say, I often found myself at the back of the pack, but had a great time anyway!
The acceleration car club was founded by that same group of people who used to drive every weekend from when it got dark, often only heading home to bed when the sun was coming up.
The Magna became somewhat of a legend on gravel, a long wheel base combined with pedders shocks meant that it was a piece of piss to rip on the handbrake and and casually manouver the wheel backwards and fowards with one hand, doing continuous massive angle fishtails for 100s of metres. But that has all come to a stop sadly. A few of you on boost know why I cannot partake in these activities any more

I have loved skyline GTRs for years, and had planned to buy one as my first serious car. After a bit of research, I realised whilst I could afford to buy one, I was walking a dangerous line, as my level of driving experience could lead to dangerous results in a high powered monster, with me being used to front wheel drive four door boats! *GTR will be my next car, say 2008, or when I get sick of vtec*
Late last year, a DC2 Type R came up for sale in a car yard down here, and despite the exorbitant price tag ($28.5k) I became interested, having heard of the formidable reputation of these cars. It was mint, and it was eventually bought by another guy in Hobart that has since apparently chucked the shits when he heard that there was another red type R about

Anyways, I took it for a drive and loved its looks, handling, grip and interior layout (mmm Recaros

) The engine revved like a champ and the engine note sounded awesome.
I didn't buy this car due to the fact that I didn't want to spend that much on a car that was going for $5K cheaper in Melbourne.
Earlier this year, I was browsing the classifieds on the main Boost page, and came across a red 2001 type R, that had a few simple mods: air filter, minor exhaust mods, lowered springs, and 17' rims for $22k.
The only problem was that it was up in Queensland. I had one of my mates up in Brisbane test drive the car on my behalf, and having a similar taste in cars and driving style to myself, he was a person whose opinion I valued highly. He loved it, so I arranged my finances, and booked a flight to Brisbane as a holiday/car buying expedition.
I drove the Integra around a few good roads near the owners house, and loved it.
Needless to say, I joined the vtec club by the end of the day.
I kept the car at my mates place south of Brisbane for a while, as my work schedule didnt give me enough time to drive the car back down to Tassie. I impatiently waited several months, before Dunky kindly offered to drive the car from Brisbane to Sydney, and catch the ferry to Devvy, arriving in Hobart to find its owner in a frenzy waiting for it to get here.
The Integra is pure Japanese performance, and I like nothing better thsn giving it heaps through some twisty bits, laughing at how it surprises the drivers of more expensive and higher powered cars.
If you enjoy doing this, hit up the link in my sig and come join the acceleration forum.
Well, thats my essay for the day, had to outdo Muz
