if you wanna toon learn adobe illustrator or how to master either the VECTOR tools or in photoshop the line tool.
Tooning is pretty much stenciling the body then filling in the vector shapes with gradients.
Not sure where yours is heading but maybe look into 'Adobe Photoshop Classroom in a Book.'
