Full Version: Diy Lens Hood

Easily one of the most important accessories designed for your lens when it's sole purpose is out-door photography.

Although, they are sometimes not in everyones price range.

This site: http://www.lenshoods.co.uk/ is dedicated to DIY lens hoods moulded off the real things.

Simply print them out, then cut them out, then fit them...

Good Luck.

Anyone tried this and know if they work?

I haven't made a lens hood off there, as mine already have hoods, but I did make a DIY 580 speedlight removable 21x21cm soft box from a similar sight.

if you have the patience and are a bit crafty, there's no reason why it shouldn't.

if your also clever you could even cast the mould in fibreglass and make a solid one smile.gif

or make it out of hard plastic but the proper ones have a matt felt so they dont get reflections on the inside also

ebay has some cheap ones going i got mine with a 58mm thread for about $15... it will be harder to find them that cheap for better lenses i assume
