Well Winters here - I've got the flu and it's been a bloody cold week, especially when it rains, anyways it hasn't seemed to stop the solid flow of photos that poured in this week.

Anyways, after the usual consultation with the panel of anonymous judges, we've deteremined that this weeks Boostcruising Picture of the Week winner is Method with his photo:



With the DaVinci code unleashed and Omen about to open in the cinemas on the 06/06/06 this dark image seemed to capture the attention of the judges this week.

Thats nice an all, but that seems more like a photoshop master peice than an actual photo.

My 2cents that this should be for actaul photos, not peices like this.

im with the g8keeper should be undoctored photos just straight off the memory card

it's a great photoshop, very impressive.

but i agree with the above 2 posts, photoshop should be won in a photoshop of the week comp, not a comp in the photography section..

you all obviously fail to see the picture underneath and the brilliant lighting and emotion captured.

As there are no published rules other then judges desicion is final, i trust you should all keep your bitching to yourselves.

i can see where both parties are coming from.

take away the photoshop efects there is some good lighting on the face as all light is hitting the right hand side of the face

although photography is about photos straight off the camera the world of photography will always go around with photoshop being used more and more thanks to how easy it can be done these days

but on topic i really like this photo and the post editing done make it very appealing, well done to method

I love this photo, photoshop or not - the lighting is awesome and would still give a feaky effect to the subject in the picture

I also think it should be photos off the card. I suck at photoshop, and I cant be stuffed learning it

just a thought maybe method would like to post the original too so we can see what it was like.

Congrats Method, we all have to understand that post processing with photoshop is just part of digital photography and if you can do it, you deserve to win. I can't use photoshop sadly, so I just have to look for a photo that needs little or no post processing...until then, learning how to use photoshop can only be beneficial.

I can see where everyone is coming from with the untouched photo comments. Fair call. This is a heavily photoshopped piece. The photo is of me (altho barely looks like me now) and was taken with my Phone during the day.

I can post up the original if you want, its not much chop (excuse pun) tho

Yeah photo did change as it was a WIP (work in progress). I didnt even see that it was nominated for Picture of the Week until after I had finished it and had deleted the nominated version that I had uploaded

if you have checked out mikes untouched photography you would soon realise that he also has skill behind the lense.
