seeing as "alternative software repositories" are bad, you can also get the free-ware version which isn't a plug-in, but a full program.

You can download noise ninja from http://www.picturecode.com/ although the demo version will add a grid and watermark on your photos.

Noiseware doesn't watermark or Grid on your images, but you can't batch process or save as anything other than jpeg

I think you may have got the before's and afters mixed up matty

I don't mind noise, every now and then I think the grain adds a little to my photography. P&S cameras aside, Ive shot sports in the carpest lighting conditions at ISO1600, further pushed in post processing and then a significant crop - prints fine I resort to the inbuilt CS2 plug in now, I find Noiseware takes alot of fine detail out which, in the images Matt's posted can be beneficial. Might have to download a trial of Noise Ninja, heard some awesome stuff about it.

I really have to upgrade from my 20D, the noise created from high ISO is stupid. Even at 800 I can see a significant amount in the dark areas of the photo. What's the inbuilt CS2 plug in you use ronza?

Hehe, I've got no qualms about cranking it to ISO3200 and still underexposing -1 stop on my 20D.

Filters -> Noise -> Reduce Noise

i have noiseware but i find the inbuilt thing in photoshop is better. and i have to use it alot when u have a crap camera that has bad noise at iso 200.

i'm newb when it comes to noise ninja..never been able to work it out properly..everytime i've used it and makes the photo worse than when i started program.

The idea is that it can restore shots taken with a bad camera, not to make her look airbrushed... Did you think her face actually looks pixelated in real life??
It is when u take a really good shot with a shitty old camera and you want to print it at a decent size, then u want to use Noise Ninja to hide all the dead pixels in the shot.

I think its overdone in that before/after.

It's overdone in most peoples uses. I can shoot at 3200iso on a 30d and still get excellent results. Just have to learn how to expose properly.

Remember noise ninja completely smears fine details and gives a fake look to pictures.

i agree with dave. i was taking pictures for a motorkhana event at hidden valley on saturday night and was pretty much forced to use ISO1250 because the floodlights werent doing enough.

shit that does work well !
