Did you set it right? What and and sub is it? Probably because your running it on low impedance loads. If you get what i mean.. :S

I think maybe the amp hasn't got enough power to run the sub.

Very much looks that way mate. Get yourself a nice two channel that you can bridge for at least 200rms @4ohms. I'd be seeing if you can take it back and get something a little better. Always worth a shot.

Check all your connections and make sure your are using an adquate power and ground wire. Might pay to try a different ground point also. Refer to the ground thread that is stickied up top

brett says:
your amp will do whatever it can, your sub wont "require" more power
brett says:
your amp will however require more power if it's underpowered from your battery
brett says:
your sub wont try and use more power than it's given
sounds right? so it might be the power getting to the amp is the problem?

Make sure your power wire doesn't have any breaks or anything and make sure the system has a good ground. I had this happen to me, it was the power wire.

Have you made sure you grounded it properly? Power connected up properly with no shorts and connected directly to the battery with 2/4/8 gauge cable. And your remote wire is hooked up and working.

ok i got the light to come on kinda..
when the music is up louder the led flashes fast and strong instead of permenent
when its turned down the light is really weak the sub cut in for a millsecond while i was playing with this
not enuff power from the battery or maybe the remote wire?
8 gauge wire

Sounds to me like you don't have an adequate ground. Try a different point. Being short to keep the wire as short as possible as well as scrapping the paint away from the location you choose.

Also get a multimeter and check that you've got a strong voltage at the amp and like TUN35 said use as short as possible ground thats probably at least 8 guage (I think you said thats what size your using anyway but I'd even go for 4 guage) and make sure it touching bare metal, scrape paint away where your bolting it down. Also check things like the fuse in your bonnet. If the wires aren't nice and tight and the fuse properly seated you might be getting a power light but when the amp goes to suck juice (espically running a sub...base notes) then it may be cutting out. Just for testing forget using the head unit wire and use a good 12 volt source (check with multimeter) and see if that helps. I know it can be a pain but you have to check everything from head to toe. Stick with it
