DriftZone memberships coming soon for 2006.
To all the drift fanatics who have been asking for memberships to Queenslands premier drift club, DriftZone, we've finally sorted out the details.
We'll be taking membership applications soon (hopefully by the end of February) so heres some info for you.

What you get:
$10 off any DriftZone drift event on presentation of your membership card,
A DriftZone t-shirt (hopefully we'll have some nice girly t-shirts for the girls),
A HUGE DriftZone sticker (about 900mm wide) for your back window,
A DriftZone lanyard (to hold your membership card maybe),
Discounts from suppliers and garages that support DriftZone.

What you'll pay:
Only $100 per year will get you membership to Queenslands premier drift club, DriftZone and you can be part of the future of drifting in Australia.

The first drift teams for 2006 have been announced.
Sunday's drift day at QLD Raceway saw two teams sign up for this years DriftZone Q1 Team Battle competition.
They are......
Drift Mulisha - Luke Knight, Trent Jackson, Luke Waldon and Ben Jones.
Team Panty Droppers - John Cain, Justin Fankhauser, Eugene Arendsen and Andrew Seward.
Good luck guys and lets hope some more teams sign up on February 12th to give you a run for your money.

DriftZone February 12th 2006 drift day.
The first round of the 2006 DriftZone Q1 drift series is on Sunday 12th February at Queensland Raceway.
Dont forget to organise your AASA licence via the staff at QLD Raceway and if you can get a team together, now is the time.

PRICES: DriftZone has held prices stable for 2006, so its still $100.00 per car, including one driver. An additional driver sharing the same car is an extra $50.00.
Spectators are $10 at the gate, and kids under 14 are free.

Driver signups start at about 10am, drivers briefing at 12:45 and the action hits the track at 1pm.
The competition is set to kick off at 2pm.
We'll run the competition on one half of the track while the other half of the track will be open for the remaining drivers to keep drifting.
The action is all over at 5pm.

I want to protest to the action being over at 5pm though, is that okay?

Just cos there are plenty more hours of daylight, especially this time of year tongue.gif

Protest noted, marked in the minutes and discussed over bourbons.
It is a bit of a shit, but theres insurance and safety issues involved too.
We need the firies/ambo's on site and they want to get home at a reasonable time and by 5pm theres usually not that many cars/drivers left with energy or tyres.

YAY go team panty droppers!

Will gladly pay the $100 to get $10 off.

So does that mean, you can pay $100, and get free spectator entry into any event?

Worth its weight in gold if that's the case smile.gif

Team Panty Droppers - John Cain, Justin Fankhauser, Eugene Arendsen and Andrew Seward.

Go Team Panty Droppers biggrin.gif

I could definately see myself paying $100 for membership..Also maybe another solution to getting off the track at 5 would be to start the day a little earlier if people are keen..so that way the ambos/firies can still go home at a reasonable hour and the drifters get a couple more hours of track time

Drift Mulisha - Luke Knight, Trent Jackson, Luke Waldon and Ben Jones.

Good to see your cars are out there Luke & Ben smile.gif

Other people are using the track up until the time DriftZone takes over so theres no real way of being able to start earlier. Daylight in winter means its usually dark by 5 in the afternoon anyways, its only summer we have more light.

Just a question about the running of the Team drift competition Cameron.

What time are they qualifying and competing ?

And will there be enough change over time for them if they wish to compete in both the Team Drift and regular Drift battles

The schedule for competition days goes something like this....

10:00am sign ups start
12:45 drivers briefing
1:00pm hit the track
2:00pm qualifying starts on the competition circuit (front straight). If you want to try and qualify for the competition be there.
2:30ish competition starts (top 16), while free practice continues on the back circuit.
3:30ish competition ends, time for drivers to change tyres and get back for the team battle competition
3:45pm team battle competition starts. Each team gets one pass and the judges decide the best team pass for the day. The best team gets 10 points towards the trophies at the end of the year.
Free practice will continue after the team competition if time permits
5:00pm track closes.
