Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has a link/info regarding removal/replacement of all of the plastic interior bits for an s13. Air vents, center console, door bits. Basically everything made of plastic.
I am pretty sure I know how to get most of them out, however I'd like some actual technical articles.
I really don't want "I just ripped them out, she'll be right jimmy" kind of responses, only actual useful info (particularly if there's pictures to back it up). Specifically things like where the clips are, what angle to take them out/put them back in at, what tools work best, etc.
Also interested in the best method for sanding them back and also the best covering/paint to use on them?
Cheers.

I very much doubt theres any articles describing how to remove all the interior components. Its very straight forward, take out any screws you can see, then pull

i dunno much about s13's but im pretty sure its the same with most cars trake the screws out and work at it slowly to go at it like a bull at a gate, thats when u do break shit, with the paint, you can buy special primer, weather its vinly, plastic etc... then once you have coated it with that pick ur colour and go from there... gl with it

Are you serious? Did you even read what I said?
In an attempt to stop these pointless comments I am moving this to Tech, Interior.

I don't own a silv, but I imagine my R32 interior would be similar to the s13. What I do is get a pen and paper, and draw what you see, all the screw holes and different little panels that come off, then remove all the screws, there are two screws at the base of the lever that pops your hood, you take out your gearshift boot, stick and ashtray to get to your stereo sorround, there should be two screws where you took the ashtray out and two more below and inside your gearshift area facing the same way. The clips are really easy to pop out, you just give the bottom pull upwards and it should pop out easily without damaging any clips, then the top should follow in suit. Sorry if this doesnt help man but if the s13 interior is similar to the 32 then it should work, this setup is the same in alot of cars I've pulled apart.

Nice post man, thanks for the info.
I am really interested in the air vents, as I can't see the clips and I am concerned that just "popping" them out is likely to break something. I have the ability to take my time with it and I don't want to have to replace bits.

It is as simple as undoing the screws thou and pulling the pieces out...

I could recommend taking your time, and than taking a bit more after that as well. If it is anything like the rex, there are little hidden screws everywhere.. Is there anything in a manual or on line?? I assume you have checked already though! You are right though , just ripping it oput will just result in broken bits that will need to be replaced .. ==== more cost!! Good luck with it!!

With the aircon vents, if you get a pair of thin pliers or something that will fit inside the vent, you clamp onto the louvre (the thing that controls the direction of the air). and with a flat headed screwdriver with a cloth around the tip, loosen all 4 edges of the vent while pulling gently at the louvre with the pliers. It worked for my 32 and the vents on 32's are the worst, I know wreckers that say its impossible to get them out without breaking them, but it worked for me doing it this way. Good luck man.

sedate looking - Spot on. There doesn't appear to be anything online. I may actually take pictures as I'm doing it and put something together.
PUR32 - Excellent, thanks again.
