im still in the process of finding a KE70, i have decided a 1GGE is the engine i wish to fit, how much work is involved? will a new tailshaft be needed? will the t50 gearbox fit in the ke70 tunnel? also what do i do about the mounts?
Its probabily good adding that its a safe bet i will be buying a 4KC 1.3 if that alters anything Cheers -------------------- The man who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone to blame it on

1. A lot
2. Yes 3. Yes 4. Custom. Might help if you get an ae71, may be able to use k-frame mounts ( Spaced different to a ke70 ). Get on rollaclub for more info. -------------------- "If it's kinda like life, and life treats ya good, it's not what's on the outside, it's whats under the hood!"

T50 is too weak, minimum I'd run is a W55 - but W58 is preferable.

4A as in 4AC 1.6?
i would rather go with something that has a bit more grunt than spend lots of money trying to get a 4AC up to the same level.. -------------------- The man who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone to blame it on

in relation to the tailshaft, correct me if im wrong, but i have been told they have to be customized by an engineer, so they'll do it on the lathe then weld it a give you a slip or something to show its leagle,

I'd recommend them! Good price and had it back and mounted two days later.. -------------------- The old single spinner. A Commodore trademark.

i have heard a 1200 head (not sure what type) on 4KC goes alot better than than the 1300 head because it has higher compression, is this true? and which head gasket would you use?

You won't find a 'Bigport' head, and if you do it will be fucked. If you HAVE to, rebuild the 4K with high comp pistons, baby cam, little bit of head work, etc. -------------------- ZOMG! 4FT FISHTANK SETUP WITH THE LOT FOR SALE! PM ME FOR MOAR INFORMATION!

If you are going to keep the 4K then I suggest rebuilding with 5K internals and a 3K head, retaining the 4K block the 1200 head you are thinking of is off of a 3K. In failing that, get a 7K and drop it in. but if you want to stay with the 4K then do as previously mentioned and try to find a ep63 (I think) Starlet intake manifold, wiring loom and ECU because they came out with a EFI 4K. much better for turbo'd application. but spending that much money on it you could've just dropped a SR20, they go nicely in there same as the engine cross member. Head over to Rolla Club and ask Mongrel if you want a SR because he is building one at the moment.
