Hi all i just had a delivery of some number plates from aust post and im thinking to my self i havent ordered any new plates.
i open the box up to find a new copy of my plates in a different colour scheme to what i had before and them telling me i have to remove my old plates and send them back to them.
then it says refer to the letter we sent you a month ago, which i never received any letter so i am a bit confused and very pissed off as they plates they have sent me now wont match the car they are supposed to be put on to.
has anyone else had this happen or does anyone have any info on why this has happened.
if anyone can shed some light on the subject it would be great because i have no clue as to whats going on here.

as for sending the plates back that wont be happening because i own those plates not ppq so as far as i am concerned the can go fuk them self.
i can feel a big shit fight coming on over this. head_wall.gif

The most likely reason I can think of is that the colour combination has been deemed as not legible or visible enough to fit within the definitions.

I have heard of this occuring before.

Doubt you'd be doing this given your choice to keep the plates but a call to PPQ would be able to confirm this.

Current combination wouldn't happen to be green with gold writing would it?

But yes, instead of asking here, the logical thing to do would be to ring them up and confirm the reasons why.

Therefore after 3,333 posts, the correct answer will be in this thread, somewhere.

I would love to be able to play a prank on some toss with wank plates and have them re-send the plats in some bogus colors.

FYI, they open at 8am. If you had waited four minutes, you could have called.

I enjoy the fact that people come on posting their "panic posts" requiring immediate replies, but then fail to answer every and any question asked of them regarding the topic. GG.

Either this OR...
if someone has a similar plate combination - it is possible that it was incorrectly processed.
Either way, it's fixable. Why stress?

i had gold with blue writing and the new ones are so dark they look black.

yes the answer was here just for your info.(TOSSER)

they said that my plates were painted with a paint that fades and i can be fined for this so they say but my solicitor said they are at fault so if you get a fine we will sue them.lol

the main problem is the blue they are using now is not the colour i wanted and does not match my car like the old colour did and even in the sun unless you get right up close to them they look black.
i am still waiting for a call from queensland transport as they are the ones responsible for the recall yet ppq want me to send the plates to them.

i told them i will not be sending my plates back unless they can provide me the colour i purchased or they can refund me the current value of the plates.
then they said i had to send both lots of plates back and new ones would be sent out to me.lol
so i am supposed to drive my car with no plates, i dont think so.
i told them when you send me the new plates and i know they are the right colour i will return the other plates which they wont do.

so ringing ppq was a complete waste of time and the reason i posted it here was to see if anyone else has had to return their plates and did they get the right colour plate.

We hate service people like you. Though is offtopic. I actually agree with him in his last post. He paid a large sum to have something fit his car well, PPK Fucked it, sent the totally wrong shit and now wants the old back. Then, want BOTH back to "Fix" it. WTF? That doesn't sound very professional. Personally, Id either demand to have them fix the original they supplied in the first place, of have your solicitor start making phone calls.

So what, you expect them to color co-ordinate the plates... just for your car. They have obviously found a defect with the paint that was used on the plates, so they are trying to help YOU. Because god knows that in a year or so's time when the paint starts to peel and you get pulled over and defected for "unreadable plates" you'll start another thread on here along the lines of

"PPQ gave me plates that are peeling after only having them for 2 years and I got a defect for it. I've spoken to my solicitor and he said that I should send them the bill because they are responsible for it. What do you guys think".

Seriously, grow up and put the plates on your car. PPQ couldn't give a shit that the new plates don't match the color scheme of your car... fark, be grateful we actually have the choice of several colors. Would you have the same rant if you were in NSW where they have the choice of white and yellow?

i agree with him too, ppq fucked up, why should he go out of his way? he did nothing to instigate them sending new ones in the first place. and sending both back so a they can 'fix' it? fuck that, poor guy will probably end up with NO plates, and be out of pocket...

I believe that they are both right and wrong. He paid perfectly good money for plates for his car and he chose that colour combination for a reason (whether it be personal preference or colour match), So why should he really have to give them back?? But he is wrong because he isn't approaching the situation very intelligently or maturely.
PPQ are right because they happen to believe there is an issue with the plates colour and only know to issue a recall in this instance, and they're only doing their job. they're wrong because he paid money and chose what he wanted

Have fun trying to sue them for fines after they have notified you of an error, and recommended a course of action to prevent this happening; add to that, the solution they offered was at NO cost to you at all. I believe, and correct me if I am wrong, but these actions taken by PPQ absolve them from any further legal issues, as they have offered a FREE solution to the identified problem?

It is your own stubborness and self rightousness that may get you the fines, and unfortunately you can't sue anyone else for that.

QUOTE (then12man @ Nov 8 2009, 09:22 AM) *
i told them i will not be sending my plates back unless they can provide me the colour i purchased or they can refund me the current value of the plates.

Current value, unless a highly highly sought after Q plate, is whatever you originally paid for it regardless of what you think it might be worth.

With the replacement ones that they sent you, have you fitted them to your car, and looked at them in the daylight? Isolated they might look dark and shit, however once on the car and surrounded by a similar colour it might change your preception of the colour.

Oh, and when you first got the plates if they weren't the right colour would you have had a sook, and abuse PPQ for not matching to the colour of your car as you thought? I dare say no, so suck it up and like I said, at least they have advised you that there is a error and have provided a FREE solution to the issue to ensure that you don't any fines that aren't directly your fault.
