i agree that is a pretty poor effort, particularly if you have spent a lot of time on it, try to use some imagination add some parts, bumpers, skirting, when you add writing try to change the setting from normal to overlay, or colour or linier dodge/burn which ever one looks best and lower the opacity to give a more realistic effect, it also looks like you blurred the crap out of all your edges, try lowerning the % of blur to lessen the impact.

vegas - matty - chayeah you should post your chop of the same car for criticism, and maybe give some helpful hints for lancercoup and then some improvements will come

here is what i came up with in about 3 hours

just try all the settings, some of them will look better than others, but you have to lower the opacity a little and it will then show through some of the light and shade of the car panels, your window ones look ok, with the skirts/bumpers, some of them just wont work very well, it is always better to have more panel on the skirt/bumper than is needed, then cut it out to the lines that the original car has, then use the eraser tool to blend out the panel edge, then you have to hue/sat and bright/contrast to get it to look as close a possible, then in some cases you will have to burn/dodge the added panels to add shading in the right areas (with the rear bumper you needed to burn the top of the bumper for it to match the darkness of the original car, keep the burn setting down to 4 or 5 with low flow, you will have to make a lot of passes but slower is better so you dont over do it, also you could erase the edge with around 10% with around 15%flow which will bring some of the original shading/colour through)

keep trying it all gets easier, i have only been casual photoshoping for around a year now, keep looking up some of the tutorials they always help
this one at carchops is quite good - car chops
and a big list here - photoshop tutorials

good luck thumbsup.gif

just a little tidy up on this one, all you needed to do was to stretch the rear bumper to the shaded line and slightly erase out to create a smooth edge with some minor cloning to blend in, minor touch up on the side skirt, and extended the original car shape towards the front under the door, lifted the vent, minor touch up around the wheels, burned the areas of the car that are visible from inside of the wheel arch, cut the pic to remove the overlap at the top of the pic, and slightly change the contrast of the whole pic to give a slightly different look, other than that what you had done was pretty good actually, the only other thing i would suggest is to slightly adjust the rear spoiler as it seems to be sitting too far to the right of the pic (which i didnt do)

pretty good mate, only your cut edges around the black and the edges of the wheels is a bit how's ya mother, otherwise not too bad, looks like your edges are better from some of your recent pics, just have to zoom in far enough to get a good line

(tip - to quickly move the pic in any direction when zoomed in close, simply hold the space key/button and use the mouse to drag the pic in any direction you need, this is helpful when cutting around wheels or the body of the car)

and the touch ups on the honda only took 15-20 min, just a quick job
