Only if they were truly extreme circumstances AND driving was the only viable option.

Something about driving to Garden City suggests that it doesn't meet either criteria, unless of course they had a once in a lifetime bargain sale of Unit and flatcaps of 4 for $40 with free southern cross stickers.

umm if you were displaying P plates (trying to hide the fact you're on your leaners) and got caught would you loose more than 3 points?

like if u display no plates and drive on ur own thats 3 points but if u display p plates and drive on ur leaners whats the deal?

You're eligible to receive 3 infringements:

- Learner drive unaccompanied - $160 + 1 DP
- Learner fail to display L plates - $160 + 2 DP
- Display P plates when not required - $80 + 0 DP

You wouldn't be the first to try it mamoru.gif

haha.. so what the gov is really saying is.. it's better not to display any plates then it is to display l plates.

yes i know it's out of context but meh...

that also means if i display l plates i can get caught like 3 times without getting fucked up compared to getting caught once with no plates no driver...

I get scared watching 'L' plate drivers driving with someone with them unsure.gif
you don't have the experience to be driving by yourself, what makes it worse is they care more about getting caught then driving.

Yes. Some of us have been complaining about this for years.

That said, you're obviously much more likely to be pulled over when you're displaying L plates and by yourself, as opposed to looking like a 'normal' Open licence holder. This is considerably more common with older drivers who haven't bothered to do their test. You'd be surprised just how many people do it...it's quite concerning...

The thing is if you were doing this there are so many trade offs...

driving with l plates on - only fined for no supervisor..
driving with p plates - less chance of getting pulled up?? or maybe more since u got p plates?
driving with no plates? - if you look young maybe more chance then p plates??

ahaha so many trade offs... if i was gonna do this id go no plates and just wing it.

yes they prove nothing, if it was all about "the skids mate" America would be the leading developer of cars in the world, the nurburgring would host mulitple skid sessions every month, there would be V8 SuperSkids, JGSC (Japan Grand Skid Championship), etc etc it would be FS instead of F1 Formula Skids.....
