I'd be thinking 1D over 1DS. 1DS and 5Dmk2 would be very similar, but 5D would have better AF etc..

5Dmk2 is much newer? Take 500D vs 50D for example..

When I go MK3, it wont be an 's' version but the 1.3 crop, although it would be nice to have the 's'!

I need something that is decent in build, good to hold in my hand and is nice to work with. MK3 ticks all those boxes, and with the glass I am looking at buying, it will be perfect combo.

Casey, I dont do much sports now. More portraits and a bit of landscaping here and there. But with the mk3 I can still go back to shooting sports when I feel I can make more $$$ out of it. 5dII probably isnt the camera I really want. Sure video would be nice, but I dont want it as it doesn't interest me.

Nah, its only MK1 and was ex goverment stock, but it has absolutely nothing wrong with it! So i have to decide between this and 1ds. cant have both, mrs will cut my nuts off.

you can buy my 1ds mkI for $1700. 5D will stay. Need to find a BG-E4 for it thou and some more batteries.

There's even 40D's with shit tamron zuperzooms for $1500.. It's as if these people don't know 50D's are out there for $1500 brand new...
