I just recently copped a fine for doing 84 in a 60 zone meaning I lost 4 demerit points and being on P's that means I have to choose between 3 Months or 1 Year 1 Point good behavior. Won't get too much into how or why it happened because it's not entirely important.

I have been more inclined to go with 3 Months suspension, purely because I have a way of getting to and from in the meantime and the 3 months will be a hell of a lot easier than 1 year 1 point. This is my first fine ever and I rarely speed excessively so that isn't the reason I am not in favor of the 1 Year GB, it's more that if something did go wrong like a minor infringement and I lost say 2 points I then lose it for 6 months and that's not really something I want to worry about every time I step foot into a car.

What I am worried about though is that the 3 months, because it counts as a 'suspension', would affect my future choices of insurance with particular cars or something similar. Does anyone know generally, or if anyone has been in this situation before, whether or not this suspension is recorded permanently and does it affect things like insurance, registration etc. etc.

Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated, cheers.

I've lost my license twice since 2009 and the insurance companies don't even ask if I've had suspensions.

Thankyou! Regardless of whether it happens to me I think I'd prefer 3 months of pain than 12 months of constant worry. Plus save a bit on fuel..

Both of my attempts were during the good behaviour and it's the worst decision I've made.
