Sellers Description
Hey guys. I'm selling my 2004 Toyota Corolla Sportivo. Here's the spiel:
236,000ks
Full service history
Cascade blue
141kw with a 8400 rpm limit.
These are pretty well speced from the factory for a corolla including:
- Dual front / side airbags
- Larger brakes
- ABS
- Brake assist
- Electronic brake force distribution
- Auto climate control
- 16" alloys
- Central locking remote control
- Fog lights
- Full leather interior
- Power windows / mirrors
- Black dash / instrument panel
I bought the car over 3 years ago as a daily runaround and it's been a great car. There's a few scratches / small dents here and there and there's and a rip on the drivers seat but overall it's quite presentable. The car has full service history in the books until 215,000k and I've taken care of it after that with fully documented service history including what was changed, when, k's etc.
There's no leaks from engine or gearbox and it uses no oil between services when running Penrite HPR5, and only a small top up required when running Castrol Edge 5W-30. I've changed the oil every 6 - 7,000k's. The car has just been given a fresh oil and filter change yesterday (6/2/15) with Penrite oil again.
The headlights were also looking a bit dull so I wet sanded them down yesterday with 1000 / 2000 and 2500 grit, polished them with a DA and Menzerna polish and sealed them with Gtechniq C4. I did this as well about 3 years ago to them and they lasted that long which is pretty good.
As I knew this would be a daily for a while I went about changing things to get them to a good standard to make the car as reliable and smooth as possible.
The car has 4 x Bridgestone Potenzas RE002's. Plenty of thread left - 50-60% easily. I got a full laser wheel alignment done at the time. (20,000k ago)
The car also has:
- Short shifter kit - nice feel
- Black ford mustang gearknob
- Brass shifter bush installed between the linkages and the box for a more direct feel
- Pioneer headunit with USB connection
I bought the car with a slipping clutch 20k ago at that time so I:
- Installed a Exedy HD clutch and release bearing (even easier than the standard clutch)
- Changed the oil and filter (Penrite HPR5)
- Changed the coolant (toyota coolant)
- Changed the waterpump
- Changed the pollen filter
- Changed the power steering fluid
- Changed the air filter
- Changed the brake / clutch fluid
- Changed the gearbox oil (75W90 + 125ml of Nulon G70 Gearbox additive)
- New battery
In March 2014 (only around 12,000k's ago) there was a slight squeak from the tensioner arm (it tensions the serpentine belt) so I got a brand new one (Toyota brand) installed. While the car was in the garage I also requested the following to be carried out / changed to give peace of mind:
- Cleaned out the VVT / lift filters in the head (They were very clean though)
- Tested oil squirters were working ok (they were fine)
- New serpentine belt
- New lift bolts (the old ones turned out to be perfect)
- New cam cover gasket
- New air con pulley bearing
- Front and rear brake discs were given a skim as I was fitting new pads
- New QFM HPX pads on the front
- New TRD pads on the rear
All this was carried out by Terry at Road & Track in Ipswich who come highly recommended by people in the Toyota community. Terry commented when he had the cam cover off how clean the engine looked which was good to hear.
Last year I was planning on bringing the car to the track so I gathered loads of bits to bring the suspension up to speed. At a cost of over $1600 I bought:
- 4 x KYB gas shocks
- Lowered King Springs
- Whiteline front control arms (includes new bushes & ball joints installed on the arms)
- Whiteline adjustable end links
- Custom made Selby sway car (unike the Whiteline unit which just stiffens the rear torsion beam, this is a custom unit with new clamps, bushes and attaches the the torsion beam and the body)
Unfortunately I never got around to fitting all this so any potential buyer has the option of buying all these as part of a deal if they wish.
The car comes with 2 keys as well. There's 5 months rego left on it and I will supply a RWC upon receiving a deposit.
