Hey,
Has anyone known of VK's with digital dashes having problems with their readings? Mine tells me i'm outta fuel when I've just filled up, tells me i'm low on coolant ALL the time when I'm not, my speedos WAY out (got a ticket doing 94 in a 60 zone ..and i wasn't..no really, my dash is rooted!) ...so, has anyone else had this problem? I bought a second hand dash from a decent wreckers couple of weeks ago.. and am getting it installed by a auto sparky next week.... hopefully that fixes the problem.....

Wouldnt it of been an idea to ask BEFORE you bought another dash?? They were good in their day, but i have not seen one yet without drama's on either the way it reads or the disply lashing and dimming.. Look flash but thats about it unlesds you get a new one ( good luck) or get one recoe'd.. Try otto instruments, at rocklea for recoing..

thanks for the advice.....I actually have taken my car to an auto electrician who looked at it and advised me to get another dash...so that's what I've done. I was just wondering what other people may have done in the same situation had they had a digital dask for a VK. I'd love to get it changed to a 'normal' dash, but have been quoted very exy prices to do that, so am stuck with trying to replace the dash with one the same that has been tested and is under warranty. Btw, I've just joined this site...so yeah, prolly woulda been a good idea to ask for advice BEFORE i got the new one, but didn't know bout this site til recently!!

ok ya speedo id say (dont hold it against me if im wrong ok ) has been changed with the wrong input shaft , and im sure ya would have noticed doing 34km/h over the speed limit as ya hammer past a few cars...


the tank :ya sender unit if rooted id say , the one in the tank i meen, id say its come apart so it thinks its always empty

where are ya situated?

My VK digital dash keep doing stuff like yours
something i would just turn off when driving and oil pressure light would come on
i turned out to be a bad earth to the engine block
never had a problem after that

there is a place call automotive EMF there at spring hill no sure of the # though that does exchange units but id be checking all the all the sensors on the engine an transmission first as they a cheap to replace dashes arent
